Gorgali Lorestani (Zabiholah Mohamadi)

Iran, 1938

Zabiholah Mohamadi was born in 1938 in the Malashir village of Lorestan. His father was one of the elders of the village and had a poetic inclination. He sent his son to a Mullah to be taught the Quran and the Sha’ahnameh. Inspired by the Islamic theology he depicts the stories from the Quran and its prophets. Gorgali Lorestani is a narrator and an illustrator who produces his own interpretations. Since he draws in the same way he tells a story, he cannot avoid introducing many characters as well as narrating with careful details.
