Mettraux

This set of photomontages is the work of a certain Mettraux.
According to the person who brought it to our attention and assures us that it is a complusive hunter of vernacular photographs, who reappropriates some of them to make these creations.
Based on the systematic association / superposition of two portraits, these obey a certain fascination for the staging of hybrid characters who seem to want to appropriate a new identity by hiding behind the mask of the other. On the back of each appears the name Mettraux, a stamp indicates “original” and mentions a date, between the years 2018 and 2020.
